  1. Reviewed and dispersed mail.
  2. Read and accepted minutes from the previous selectmen meeting.
  3. Warrant #18 was reviewed and signed ($107,568.43)
  4. The Cumner Road has been paved and work has started on the Davis Road hill. The Road Commissioner has started the removal of the base of the road to replace with a better packing product. The road has always been a clay and rock base. The new base will be crushed stone that will be much better and more stable. This should help maintain the new pavement that will be applied later this month.
  5. The selectmen reviewed the Bank Reconciliation Report.
  6.  The selectmen worked with a resident in reference to a foreclosure on his property.
  7. The Cemetery Sexton sold four lots this week. Copies were made of the deeds.

  2. Read and accepted minutes from the previous selectmen meeting.
  3. Discussed the need to improve the road in the Municipal Cemetery across from the church on Tower Road.  
  4. The town received the state’s estimated assessment of the town for 2018... $68,600,000.  
  5. The selectmen discussed the guidelines for Bulky Pickup day. The collectors will not pick up building material or tires on rims. Complete guidelines can be found on the back of the Waste/ Recycle Schedule that is inserted in the Town Report. Additional copies are available at the Town House.

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. Read and accepted minutes from the previous selectmen meeting.
  3. The Vienna Fire Department received a grant for $7,000 from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation. This money will be used to replace the outdated air pack bottles for the SCBAs.
  4. Reviewed and signed warrant #19 ($20,260.16)
  5. The selectmen signed the warrant and notice of election for the RSU #9 Budget Referendum. This will be held on October 24th at the Community Center.
  6. Discussed with a town resident the need to do ditching in front of his property to help prevent the washing out of the town road. The Selectmen will visit the location and come up with a plan; there was further discussion on the road crown and ditching of the road.
  7. The selectmen reviewed and signed the bank reconciliation report.
  8. The selectmen voted to except the recommended appendices for the 2017- 2018 General Assistance Ordinance.
  9. There is an Ordinance Review Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 19th, 6:30pm at the Town House.

  1. Reviewed and dispersed mail.
  2. Read and accepted minutes from the previous selectmen meeting.
  3. The selectmen worked on the tree growth report.
  4. Allan Trask spoke to selectmen about one of his properties on Cemetery Road.  He provided the selectmen with documentation of a transfer of a portion of that property to the Cemetery Association.  This will be included in the changes for 2018.
  5. The selectmen will be voting on the 2017 - 2018 General Assistance Appendices at the next meeting, October 3rd.  This is an annual that allows the town to meet state recommendations.
  6. The selectmen are looking for a new E911 addressing officer. The person would be responsible for assigning house numbers to the new homes and the upkeep of the records.  If you are interested in this position please contact one of the selectmen.

  1. Reviewed and dispersed mail.
  2. Read and accepted minutes from the previous selectmen meeting.
  3. Reviewed and signed Warrant # 18 ($161,077.71).
  4. The selectmen received four verbal bids for the winter sand. The lowest bid was from Dan Goucher for $4.45 a yard, which was accepted.  The other three bids came in at $4.50 per yard. Mileage and the cost per yard were considered.
  5. The selectmen talked with road commissioner Danny Goucher: The Mountain Road will be getting repair. The week of the 30th the paving will begin on the Cumner Road and the Davis Road. The road side brush removal is going to be starting in the next couple of weeks - discussed the need for road side tree/branch trimming in preparation of the upcoming plow season; also discussed the need for snow plow turnarounds; it seems one of the turnarounds needs to be relocated.
  6. The selectmen discussed the sign theft issue.  Over 12 signs have been stolen over the last couple of weeks.  This has been a problem all summer as many road signs have been stolen and it becomes quite expensive to replace them all. In order to cut the cost of signs the town has been replacing the stolen signs with wooden signs.
  7. The winter sand will be put up the first week of November.
