Selectmen minutes

1. Read and accepted minutes.
2. Open and distributed mail.
3. Reviewed and signed Warrant #17.
4. Roadside mowing was awarded to Danny Oliver for $1500.00.
5. Road Commissioner’s report: Pike Industries has not gotten back to the town about paving. Rain has washed out part of the Bean Farm Road, Bessie Road, and Allen Road. Repairs have been done on all three roads. Varney Road has also been repaired.

3. Dodi has received the tree growth roster from the State. The Tree Growth Report is due back on September 27th.
4.  Discussion with Chief Church about having the fire Department flush out clogged culverts. Chief Church agreed this would be a good idea and will have the firefighters flush culverts on Thursday nights after they coordinate with the Road Commissioner.

3. Received comments on the nice grading job on the town maintained roads this year.
4. Brian Church, Fire Chief, wants to insulate ceiling in the community room and reseal the parking lot. The work will be done by the firefighters and paid for out of the Community Building Capital Expense Account.
5. Signed the Snow plowing contract extension with Lenny Meader dba Meader’s Construction.
6. Will have Road Commissioner look at Varney road to determine what work is needed.
7. Heavy rains over the weekend of August 10th caused damage to several of the town roads. Road Commissioner has been working on the Mountain Road, Jessie Ladd Road, Klir Beck Road, and Tower Road.
8. Thirty Mile Watershed Group did work on the Klir Beck Road with help from the YCC.

3. Road Commissioner has been making road repairs after the recent hard rainstorm.
4. Signed appointment papers for the Town House Committee - members appointed for three year terms.
5. Donald Tibbetts appointed for another year as Animal Control Officer.
6. Austin Harrell has been appointed as the new Planning Board member.

3. Sand bids will be opened September 10th at 7:00 PM.
4. Meader Construction will get several bids on salt and submit to selectmen.
5. Road Commissioner Dan Goucher will do the hauling of sand with use of local contractors.
6. Chris will follow up on August 8th with Road Commissioner to determine if all interested bidders have been contacted.
7. YCC Group did a project on Klir Beck Road - putting rock damns to prevent sand washing into the ponds. Rocks will be provided by the town.
8. Discussed a three foot culvert to be replaced on the Egypt Pond Road later this year.
9. Selectmen will send out requests for roadside mowing bids to be opened September 3rd.
10. Road Commissioner has been patching roads. A culvert on the Bean Road has been repaired. He has also made contact with paving companies for bids on the paving project on Tower Road.
11. Signed contract with Jim’s Painting Service to paint a portion of the Town House.
