Minutes - Vienna Village Cemetery Association
May 18, 2015
Helen Wilkey called the meeting to order at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2015, at the Community Building in Vienna. Those in attendance were: Helen Wilkey, Jeannette Daly, Debbie Byrnes, Barbara Gilman, Mirjam Wood and Cindy Pelliccia.
The minutes of the previous meeting held on April 27, 2014 were read & accepted.
The Treasurer's report given by Helen Wilkey was read & accepted. Helen informed the members that there is a new administrator for the Dorothy Waugh Trust.
Election of officers was held with the following results:
- Helen Wilkey, President
- Jim Anderberg, Vice President
- Debbie Byrnes, Secretary
- Helen Wilkey, Treasurer
The Board of Directors:
- Lois Siegler
- Mirjam Wood
- Barbara Gilman
Old Business:
A discussion was also held concerning the bylaws. A motion was made by Cindy & seconded by Jeanette to amend Article 2, Section 2 of the bylaws to add "An exception may be made by vote of the board of directors for someone with a relative buried in the old section of the cemetery."
The motion was voted and passed.
Helen & Cindy will research how broken stones might be fixed. Barbara will do research for a cleaner that can be used on the stones.
There was discussion about the increased expense for mowing. Helen explained that in addition to the mowing, there were woodchuck holes that were filled and work was done on the back corner bushes.
The association's annual income from the Waugh Trust decreased to $2,680.07 due to the economy. All agreed that the association will need to be more cautious about spending.
New Business:
It was asked where the bank records can be stored, and also, how long does the association need to retain them. None of the members knew the answer but it can be researched.
Fencing: Sections of the fencing is broken and there is rust where it had been broken previously. Helen will ask Alan Harville about fixing or reinforcing it. It was voted to authorize Helen to spend up to $500 to repair the fencing.
