Selectmen's meeting - May 16, 2023

Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
Reviewed and signed Warrant #10 ($125,611.75).
Road Commissioner, Mr. Goucher, discussed the recent road damage from the large storm.

Selectmen discussed the progress on Broadband.
Selectmen discussed the property that is referred to as the Mill Pond.

The selectmen looked over property cards 10-120 and 10-20 as a resident had questions over the two properties.

The selectmen signed and sent a letter of thanks to the Girl Scout Troop 2096 for the 2 lilac trees they planted at the Town House.
The Selectmen discussed heat pump installations in the Townhouse and the community room.
The flower garden in front of the Townhouse has been started and all residents are encouraged to add flowers.
The selectmen voted to have the edge of the parking lot back filled to protect the pavement.
Selectboard worked on Tree Growth and Property cards.
The selectmen discussed the need for a Code Enforcement Officer and a new Plumbing inspector. The Board has a few candidates they will be contacting.

The selectmen voted to have the Vienna Broadband Authority with the Skowhegan Savings Bank. The selectmen voted to move $300,000 into that account.
The Selectboard voted to move all accounts to Skowhegan Savings Bank.
The Selectboard talked with Lisa Goucher about her recent Spirit of America Award.

The selectmen marked all Property cards that have filed an intent to build permits.
The selectboard discussed the reevaluation that will start in July 2023.
Josh Heck talked with the selectboard about expectations for spring cleanup and summer mowing.

The selectboard worked on cleaning the office and setting up folders for new contract.
Opened lawn mowing bids for 2023. Only one bid was received:

Homestead Handyman (Josh Heck) $5,780.00 for mowing and $1,750.00 for spring clean-up. Homestead Handyman was awarded the 3-year contract.
The selectboard discussed the invitation from Readfield to join them with the household hazardous waste collection clean-up day. Eric Dyer sent an email with the invite for the clean-up day that will take place on Sunday, July 9th, 2023 at the Readfield Transfer Station. The Selectmen discussed and agreed bulky pickup takes care of the same items.
