Selectmen's meeting - May 7, 2024

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. Reviewed and signed Warrant #10 ($10,649.68).
  4. The Broadband Committee brought forth a request for a project manager to be hired for the broadband project. The money was included in the grant. The selectboard agreed to discuss this and get back to them with a decision. The selectboard was provided with a list of possible choices.
  5. The selectboard will meet with the Broadband Committee, the Fire Chief and Mark Ouellette,
    from Axiom, to review the placement of the hub at the fire station.

Selectmen's meeting - April 23, 2024

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. The selectboard worked with a resident on whether or not his properties are contiguous (adjoining).
  4. The selectboard reviewed and approved signing the Maine Infrastructure Adaptation Fund Grant agreement contract for funds going toward the engineering of a couple of culverts.

Selectmen's meeting - April 9, 2024

  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. Josh Markham asked questions about property lines.
  4. The selectmen and the Fire Chief reviewed hours used during the December 2023 Storm.
  5. The selectmen discussed an email from Full Service.
  6. Bruce, from Spirit America, has asked the selectmen to choose a public official for the award i.e., select person for the award.
  7. The selectmen read and discussed an email from The 30 Mile Watershed Association in regards to additional grants for road improvements.

Selectmen's meeting - April 2, 2024

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. Reviewed and signed Warrant #7 ($126,363.37).
  4. The Krauses inquired about the snow plow turn around located on the Varney Road. Currently, the snow is being pushed in front of his barn/shed. This is causing them to not be able to get into the barn/shed. Mr. Krause plans to make this property his year-round residence and wants to work with the Town to have the snow pushed elsewhere. The selectboard, road commissioner, and winter road contractor will meet with the property owner early summer and look over the situation in order to work out a plan.

Selectmen's meeting - March 26, 2024

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. Whitney Baker presented a draft grant application for the selectboard to review. This Grant is for climate action and if awarded will be used towards road improvements, paying for engineering new culvert crossing.
  4. The selectboard discussed residents parking in the snowplow turn-arounds. This prohibited the Varney Road from being plowed during the last Saturday snow storm. A letter will be sent to the resident who parked in the snow plow turn-around on the Varney Road in order to let them know that, next time, the car will be towed at the owner's expense. The Town has placed new signs at each of the snowplow turn-arounds to let the public know that parking is prohibited and towing will occur during snow storms.

  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. Reviewed and signed Warrant #06 ($98,231.38).
  4. The selectmen reviewed the new property cards and appraisals.
  5. The selectmen and Annie Tibbetts discussed the new property cards and the process of entering the new values into the computer programs.
  6. The selectboard signed off on a total of 5 Quit Claims Deeds.
