The meeting convened at 7:00 PM at the Town House. Regular members present were Alan Williams, Nanou Laliberte, Ed Lawless, and Creston Gaither. Also present was Bob Bassett. Creston will bring Waine's minutes of the February meeting to the April meeting
Alan was elected Acting Chair in Waine's absence.
The new Floodplain Management Ordinance (FMO) was adopted unanimously or nearly so at the March 12 Town Meeting. Waine has since told Creston that a copy has been sent to the State Planning Office.
Creston has written to Mike Goetz of FEMA regarding the Board's concerns about the village floodplain (as shown on the new flood maps) but has as yet received no response. It was agreed that another letter should be sent, revised to indicate that the new FMO was adopted by the Town.
Bob Bassett presented a sketch of proposed construction on the Don Ripley parcel on Waugh Road near Flying Pond (tax map 10 lot 28). Mr. Ripley would like to build an addition on the existing cabin which would be located about 185' from the pond and further than the existing cabin is from the road. Creston will check his records to see if the cabin does in fact lie within the shoreland zone. Bob is just seeking a preliminary, informal review, and at this point no one saw any insurmountable obstacles to permitting. Bob realizes he needs a plumbing permit or a letter from Plumbing Inspector John Archard stating that the existing septic system is sufficient. Bob will contact Waine or Creston when he is ready to arrange a site visit.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.
