Town Clerk Announcements:

There will be a school budget meeting held on May 21st at the MBHS starting at 6:00 PM. All are welcome to come and vote. For more information you can visit their link here.
 
On Thursday, May 24th we are having an Election for the Regional School Unit No. 9. Polls will open at 4 and close at 8 PM. This will be held at the Community Building. You will be voting on one Article.
Article 1:   Do you favor approving the Regional School Unit No. 9, also known as Mt. Blue Regional School District, budget for the upcoming school year that was adopted at the latest Regional School Unit budget meeting?

Also, June 12th we will be having the Primary Election. Polls will open at 8:00 AM and Close at 8:00 PM.

Town officials Election and Town Meeting will be held at the community building on the Kimball Pond road - March 9 and 10, 2012

The Polls will open at 4:00 P.M. and close at 8:00 P.M. Absentee Ballots will be available February 9th. For absentee voting, you can call me at 293-3383 for more information.

Town Meeting will follow Saturday, March 10 at 9:00 A. M. in the Community Building.

Clerk's office announcements - Deadline for dog licensing and nomination papers.

It's that time of the year again. Please remember to license your dogs. The deadline is January 31, 2012. Fees for an "altered" dog costs $6.00 to license, and for a dog that is not "altered" the cost is $11.00.
After January 31st the late fee of $25 in addition to the annual license fee will have to be paid.
 
Nomination Papers will be available for the following seats:
1, 2, and 3 Selectman, Treasurer, Road Commissioner, Town Clerk and Tax Collector. The Nomination papers for these will be available December 16 and will need to be returned to my office by Wednesday, January 25, 2012. This is not a day that I am usually open, so I will be open from 5 pm - 7 pm that night.
Please take note, Brian Church will not be running as 3rd Selectman this year.

NOTICE - Curbside recycling pickup
It has been brought to the attention of the Merry Dumpsters that some people in town are not separating the recycling for curbside pickup.

Vienna has always had a reputation for clean recycling and because of this we are not charged a tipping fee for our curbside recycling.  Please be aware that as we expand the items you can recycle they still need to be separated.

Recent changes include:  All plastics are accepted in one container.  All colors glass in one container.

If you want to "single stream" recycle this is available only at the transfer station in Norridgewock on Airport Rd.  A sticker is available from the town clerk.
