Planning Board Minutes - March 28, 2018

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE VIENNA
PLANNING BOARD HELD MARCH 28, 2018

The meeting convened at 7:00 PM at the Town House. Regular members present were Alan
Williams, Creston Gaither, and Tim Bickford. Alan was elected Acting Chairman in Waine
Whittier’s absence. Minutes of the February 28 meeting were read and accepted.

Alan says Jim and Kathy Meader are holding off on the project discussed in the January
minutes until they can further study recent Shoreland Zoning Ordinance changes.

School Budget Validation Vote Tuesday, May 15, 2018

REMINDER  Vote on the School Budget  Tuesday, 2-8 PM, Vienna Community Building   From your School Board member, Lidie Robbins:    “I voted in favor of this budget to add much-needed new programs and positions to our District because I believe it's a wise investment in our community's future.  The increase to Vienna's taxpayers is minimal, only about $30 on a $1000 tax bill. I hope you will join me to tomorrowand get out to vote in support of our schools.  Thank you.”

Mount Vernon Annual Memorial Day Parade - May 28, 2018

The parade starts at Flying Pond Variety at 11:30 am RAIN OR SHINE

Build a float, ride your bike, walk for a cause, be a clown, bring your ATV, dirt bike, tractor, horse, dog, car, best friend, all are welcome!

Parade participants line up at Flying Pond Variety, Route 41, between 10:30 and 11:00 am on Monday May 28th.

Support local businesses, such as Fresh Ella’s Ice Cream, and Mt. Vernon clubs at the beach after the parade.

Selectmen's Meeting - Mar 27, 2018

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. The selectman discussed the News Letter
  4. The selectmen pulled the required property cards in preparations for April 1st.
  5. The selectmen looked over a resident property card at their lenders request and faxed them the requested information.
  6. Meeting Adjourned.

Selectmen's Meeting - Mar 19, 2018

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. Reviewed and signed Warrant # 05 ($16282.15)
  4. The selectmen discussed an issue about the Cross Road with a town resident. The resident wanted to know how the section of the road beyond his driveway was closed. The road was closed in 1997 (closed by abandonment – it had not been maintained by the town for 30 years - however it was left open for public access) He has been having issues with people using the road going to Kennebec Highlands....
